RRDIC Organizational Structure

The Caraga Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC) serves as the region’s primary coordinating, policymaking, and ecosystem-building body for science, technology, research, and innovation. Chaired by DOST-Caraga with NEDA-Caraga as Vice-Chair and the private sector as Co-Chair, the RRDIC unites government line agencies, HEIs, industry groups, and R&D consortia to drive an innovation-led regional development agenda. Caraga State University (CSU), as the region’s premier science and technology university, plays a central and strategic role across multiple RRDIC units. CSU serves as a key member of the R&D, Product Development, and Technology Transfer Unit, actively contributing expertise, technologies, and researchers. Additionally, it leads the Technology Business Incubation Unit, which supports local startups, provides incubation services, and manages innovation hubs across the region. CSU additionally contributes to policy research and evidence generation through its representatives in the Policy Innovation Unit and collaborates closely with industry partners within the Business Development Unit to link research outputs with financing, commercialization, and enterprise growth pathways. Through its strong research capacity, IP support systems, and innovation-driven programs, CSU operationalizes the RRDIC’s thrusts by advancing technology development, nurturing innovators, and strengthening the overall regional innovation ecosystem. Supported by the i2FAME Regional Inclusive Innovation Center and the emerging Strategic Management and Foresight Unit, the RRDIC—with CSU as a major academic pillar—ensures that Caraga’s research and innovation initiatives are coherent, collaborative, and fully aligned with the Caraga Regional Development Plan and national STI priorities.
